"Aerospace Equipment" corporation will deliver spare parts for chinese planes

"The United Aviation Instrument-Making Consortium" joint stock company, which is part of "The Aerospace Equipment" corporation signed a contract, through the mediation of "Rosoboronexport", for delivering spare parts to service the planes earlier delivered from Russia to China. A spokesman for the company's press service reported that the cost of the contract signed on April 11 amounts to 60 million dollars. The equipment will be delivered to China till the end of 2001. More than 20 enterprises of the corporation as well as dozens of other enterprises in Russia and Belarus will take part in fulfilling the order. A tangible part of the work will be done by the "Aerospace Equipment" inter-state financial and industrial group which includes Russian and Belarussian defence enterprises. At the present time, the "Aerospace Equipment" corporation fulfils works according to agreements and contracts, the volume of which makes up about 500 million dollars. The corporation has been created by the Russian government and a group of investors a year ago within the framework of the "Federal Targeted Programme of Modernisation and Conversion of the Defence Industry."
