Moscow commuters may get stuck today

The Moscow Region is believed to be a relatively well-to-do region of Russia compared to the others. But as for today, the situation here may become much worse. The Mosenergo power utility is threatening to switch off substations feeding power to railways near Moscow city. Should it happen, over 3,000 electric trains will be stalled. This is connected with a big debt the railwaymen owe to power engineers estimated at Rbs100m ($3.5m), an official at Mosenergo has told PRAVDA.RU. The railwaymen, in turn, contest such claims.
