Leaders of all Christian communities of Palestine have issued a statement on the occasion of the Easter holiday, in which they have called for an end to the Israeli blockade of Palestinian territories, describing it as a policy of "collective punishment", Palestinian sources said. "Our sufferings have intensified in recent months," says the statement by leaders of Palestine's Christian communities, "but we assure all our sons and daughters that we share the pain of every family which is deprived of hope and is subjected to psychological and physical violence". The statement also contains a prayer for "an immediate cessation of all collective punishments and for the lifting of the blockade on Palestinian towns and villages".
