US state secretary fixes dates of the presidents' meeting

US State Secretary Colin Powell has resorted to diplomacy to fix the date of a meeting between the presidents of Russia and the USA. The RIA Novosti correspondent reports that at a Paris news conference Powell announced that the leaders of Russia and the USA would meet "by the time of a G-8 summit in Genoa" which is scheduled for mid-July. At the same time the Secretary of State said Vladimir Putin and George Bush might meet earlier, still "within the G-8 summit framework."
