Three acts of terrorism prevented in Chechnya

During the past 24 hours three acts of terrorism were prevented in Chechnya. Russian Interior Ministry specialists have discovered a land mine consisting 600 gr of explosive substance, metal fragments and crushed stone in a street in Gudermes. Two radio-controlled land mines were found on the side of a road south-east of Alkhan-Yurt settlement. The mines were destroyed. Two men were detained in the village of Khatuni on suspicion of involvement in illegal armed formations. According to information from operative officers, they are members of the extremist group "The Sword of Islam". Borz machine-guns, several F-1 grenades and masks with openings for the eyes were confiscated from them. In Mesker-Yurt local resident Khanpash Terkibayev was arrested on suspicion of having murdered the head of the local administration last October. Apart from that, six mini-oil refineries were destroyed during a special operation in the village of Khatuni.
