Vladimir Putin on flood measures

Vladimir Putin has proposed that the Emergencies Ministry work with other establishments to deal with the consequences of flooding in the country. A RIA Novosti correspondent reports that the flooding issue was raised during a meeting between the President, Prime Minister, vice-premiers and other key ministers. Vladimir Putin stressed that large-scale operations to deal with flooding were underway. However, he said that many problems remained, especially in relation to Siberian rivers. The president announced that not only Emergencies Ministry teams were required in this sphere, but also representatives from other ministries. Moreover, he added that it was necessary to organise the distribution of funds earlier.
