Death penalty proposed by MP for drug smugglers

Dmitri Savelyev, State Duma deputy representing the Nizhni Novgorod Region located along the Volga River, offers to execute drug dealers. Mr. Savelyev says he is making such a proposal at the demand of his constituents. According to him, 10% of population in the Nizhni Novgorod Region are drug addicts. At the same time, as UN-sponsored studies have shown, if the number of drug addicts in a country exceeds 7%, the country’s residents are believed doomed to extinction.
