Locals of Ukrainian village tried to punish a cemetery thief in a medieval way

In the Velikaya Danilovka village, Kharkov region, Ukraine, an outraged crowd tried to tear to pieces a woman, who stole flowers and candles from the local cemetery and sold them as if they were new. The locals caught the marauder red-handed, dragged her in the mud, made her eat soil, tied her to a pole and put a wreath around her neck. Then a queue of many hundreds locals, wishing to spit to her face, lined up in front of her. Fortunately police arrived and stopped it, IMA press reports. By the way, thefts of flowers, wreaths and candles often happen in the region. 60 actions were brought there against marauders in 2000.
