Murderer of four people arrested in Moscow. Experts suspect it was a ritual murder

The Moscow police have arrested a man who has confessed to murdering four people in the basement of an apartment building in Moscow, Lieutenant Colonel Fyodor Agapov, the head of the public security police with the Golyanovo interior affairs department, said. At around 3:30 a.m. Moscow time on Saturday, the Golyanovo interior affairs department received a call reporting a fire in the basement of building number four on Chusovskaya Ulitsa. When fire fighters arrived at the scene, they found the decomposed bodies of four people (two men and two women). Three of them were decapitated and the chest of one of the bodies had been cut open. The murderer has been arrested and has already confessed to the crime, Agapov said. Agapov would not comment so far on the motives behind the crime or the criminal's identity, citing the secrecy of the investigation, Interfax reports. Some experts believe that the way the bodies were mutilated may be indicative of a ritual murder. However, Agapov opted not to comment on any versions, noting that the police are inclined to believe that this is a domestic crime. The bodies found at the scene of the crime have not been identified yet.
