Iraq creates army to fight Israel

Thousands of Iraqi volunteers have said good-by to their families and left for to military camps to prepare for the “liberation of the entire Palestine.” This has been done to follow the order of President Saddam Hussein to create a volunteers’ army on the basis of 21st division, which is supposed to help Palestinians frustrate Israel’s plans to gain a full control of Jerusalem, according to Interfax. In all, over 7m Iraqis – a third of the country’s entire population - are reported to have rolled up to the “Jerusalem Army.” Rallies have reportedly taken place in a number of other Arab countries, the demonstrators calling for their governments to take a more decisive stance to back Palestinians against Israel. The spectre of a big war is again looming over this long-suffering land.
