Russia and Nigeria strengthen ties

In the next 4-5 years Russian-Nigerian turnover is to be increased up to 500 million dollars a year, said Russian President Vladimir V. Putin opening Russia-Nigeria extended-format negotiations. Mr. Putin said that completing the construction of a metal works in Nigeria and ways to extend joint activities in oil extraction and energy resources exploitation had been high on the agenda of the talks with Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo. According to RIA Novosti, the sides also discussed military-technical cooperation.
