Internet terrorism at St. Petersburg’s school

The first case of the “internet terrorism” has been recorded in St. Petersburg, Russia’s “northern capital city.” A directress of one of the city schools applied to the police saying that a message appeared on February 12th on the school’s Internet site containing a warning that the school building would be blown up in 4 days. In the course of an investigation it was established that the message had been sent from a PC belonging to the school’s 9th-form student. A 14-yearold “terrorist” and his classmate said they had embarked on such an act because they did not like the way some of the teachers treated them, the Ekho Moskvy radio reports. Criminal proceeding, although started, will have to be terminated because of the culprits’ being under age. However, their parents will have to pay the expenses incurred.
