Gluck: I’m alive and I’m healthy

Kenneth Gluck, rescued yesterday from Chechen captivity, came today to Nazran, the capital city of Ingushetia, a republic bordering Chechnya. Nazran hosts a mission of Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), an international humanitarian organisation for which Mr. Gluck has been working. Kenneth Gluck came accompanied by Federal Security Service officers to rejoin his colleagues as they were meeting him in two cars, RIA Novosti reports. Mr. Gluck was that very day received by Ingushetia’s President Ruslan Aushev at his residence in Magas. According to Interfax, President Aushev congratulated Mr. Gluck on his release from Chechen captivity, adding that the organization Mr. Gluck belongs to "had enough understanding not to panic." In his words, Medecins Sans Frontieres took every step to free Mr. Gluck and that Ingush and federal law enforcement bodies concerted their efforts to get him released. Mr. Gluck is due to fly from Ingushetia to Moscow later today. "I am alive, I am healthy, I am very glad that all our friends, our team, helped me. I am very happy to be here," he is quoted by Interfax as saying. Kenneth Gluck had been captured near the village Starye Ataghi in Chechnya January 9th.
