Ukraine protests against Polish police’s “aggressive acts”

A high-profile funeral was held yesterday in a village near the Ukrainian capital of Sergei Kudrya believed to have been shot dead by a Polish policeman. Ukraine is known to have served a note of protest to the Polish side on this account contending that the neighbouring country’s law-enforcement bodies often commit “aggressive acts” against Ukrainian citizens. Some Polish newspapers report that the policeman in question has been arrested while others assert he is relaxing at home. The Shchit Batkiwshchiny (Shield of Fatherland) association’s activists picketed today the Polish embassy in Kyiv and the Polish consulate in Lviv demanding that Poland extradite the policeman, our correspondent Aleksandr Gorobets reports.
