Mr. Putin’s predecessor is turning 70 today, so his successor wished him many happy returns, presidential press-secretary Alexei Gromov is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin and Boris Yeltsin talked for about 40 minutes. Mr. Yeltsin was hospitalized several days ago.
