Ukraine may face trade sanctions

US has warned Ukraine of trade sanctions likely to be introduced against it, Charlene Barshevsky, US trade representative, said on Friday. The monitoring carried out by American experts has revealed that Ukraine violates intellectual property rights and keeps on producing and exporting pirate compact and DVD discs (South Korea still heads the blacklist of intellectual property rights violators, though). A year ago, Ukraine managed to avoid sanctions because President Kuchma promised to solve the piracy problem.
