Federal forces were fired at nine times in Chechnya within last 24 hours

On January 12, federal forces in Chechnya came under fire nine times, and four of them in Grozny, the headquarters of the combined federal force in the Northern Caucasus announced. Two cars were blown up in the republic in the past 24 hours, which, however, did not cause any casualties. Twelve explosive devices were found and destroyed in Chechnya over the past 24 hours, the military said. A hiding place containing weapons and two dugouts were destroyed in the Roshni-Chu region, “Interfax” announces. As a result of "mopping up" operations, 16 people were detained on suspicion of involvement with bandits as a result of "mopping up" operations, one of whom had a bullet wound. Five rifles, one flame-thrower, and 10 kilos of explosives were confiscated.
