Moscow authorities are alarmed by the threat of explosions

Moscow authorities plan to increase awareness about the use of domestic gas appliances. A corresponding resolution was signed Thursday by the first deputy head of the Moscow city government, Boris Nikolskiy. The capital's public utilities workers have been instructed to increase preventive measures, to service gas heaters and cookers. In addition, information to explain to the population how to safely use gas equipment is to be distributed, "Oreanda" reports. The Moscow government said the decision stemmed from the recent domestic gas explosions in Biysk and Novosibirsk.
