Grave acts of terrorism were prevented in Russia in New Year’s Night

Employees of FSB (Federal Security Service) of Russia prevented a few attempts of Chechen militants to commit acts of terrorism during the celebration of the New Year in several cities and towns of Russia, a source in FSB reported. In New Year’s Eve security service agents prevented an explosion at a cantonment in Buinaksk (Daghestan) and blowing up of a dam and one of buildings of Volzhskaya hydroelectric power station. According to the spokesmen for FSB, these attempts were committed by militants, led by Arbi Barayev. Many of them are detained.
