absence of investments makes Ukraine cut coal production

Coal-mining enterprises of Ukraine produced 80.3 million tons of coal in 2000, which is 700,000 tons less as compared to 1999, the State Department of the Coal Industry of Ukraine reported. A falling tendency in the coal production was observed still in 1999 to continue in 2000, RBC announces. The major reason for the fall in the production is in untimely preparation of pits and in the absence of investments in this branch of the industry, the UNIAN agency reports.
