Nemtsov agrees to stand up to the “Stalinist” anthem, not sing it

Boris Nemtsov, leader of the Union of Right Forces faction in the Duma, has said at the briefing that he is ready to stand up while the state anthem of Russia to Aleksandov’s music is played. Yet, he added that he did not like the approved “Stalinist anthem” and would not sing it. He emphasized that all law-abiding people should stand up when it is played in public gatherings irrespective of their attitudes to Aleksandrov’s music, because Russian laws are binding to every Russian citizen, even if they are not liked by someone, RIA Novosti reports.
