Launches of Tsiklon Carrier rockets suspended

They are suspended until the cause the recent failure with the launch of 6 satellites has been detected. Yesterday, December 27th, at 21:56 Moscow time, a Tsiklon (cyclone) rocket was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome carrying 6 satellites – 3 Gonets-D1-type and 3 Kosmos-type. The Kosmoses were launched in the Defence Ministry’s interests. The Gonets (messenger) trio was launched to build up a low-orbit space communication force. The Tsikon’s 1st and 2nd stages worked well, while the 3d stage aborted, RIA Novosti reports. As a result, the satellites failed to reach the targeted orbit. The debris are expected to fall in the area of the East-Siberian Sea, near the Vrangel Isle.
