As has become known to Pravda.ru, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin signed today in the morning the state symbolism bills adopted by the State Duma and approved by the Federation Council into law. So, Russia gets an official flag, emblem, and anthem. For the past decade, “The Patriotic Song” written by famous 19th-century Russian composer Glinka has informally served as the anthem in Russia. With the New Year’s day dawning, the country returns to the music written by Soviet composer Aleksandrov. Hopefully, with new lyrics.
