Albright insisted on the new plan of UN financing. USA payment is reduced

Washington failure to fulfil its financial obligations is on everybody’s lips. It become known now that under USA pressure UN General Assembly had decided to approve a new plan of financing of this organisation. The General Assembly reduced payment of this country from 25 % to 22% in exchange for Madeleine Albright promise to repay $ 1,5 million of debt. The obligatory USA payment for financing peacemaking operation is reduced as well: from 30 per cent to 26-27 per cent. Japan claimed for this plan. Annual payment of this country is reduced, too. It is curious that in concordance with the new plan payments of Chile, Brazil, Iran, Czechia, Thailand and South Korea increase. By the way, Seoul’s position could prevent the Assembly from ratification of the new UN balance. But negotiations of US State Secretary with Seoul authorities helped to settle with question. Thus the new plan is ratified.
