The head of administration of Nadterechny area of Chechnya Akhmed Zavgayev refused to occupy the post of the representative of Chechen republic in the Federation Council. Zavgayev was appointed to this post by the order of the head of Chechen administration Akhmad Kadirov. It was confirmed at the sitting of Federation Council. “My decision has a single meaning: I am staying in my area”, said Zavgayev. He has not informed the head of the administration of the republic yet, but he is going to do it in the near future. Explaining the reasons of his decision, Zavgayev expressed confidence that “the fate of the republic is being determined in the republic itself”. He also stressed that local inhabitants many times addressed him with a request to stay in the area.
