The Russian State Duma adopted the Draft Budget 2001 after fourth and final reading on Thursday. Budget revenues and expenditures are earmarked at RUR1,193bn each(about $39.78bn), the GDP is estimated at RUR7,750bn (about $258.3bn) and the inflation rate at 12 per cent in 2001. The budget will be forwarded to the Federation Council, which will discuss the bill on December 22, Ria-Novosti reports. The State Duma passed the budget by 307 votes for, 108 votes against without abstentions.
