The number of drug addicts among teenagers has increased 13.6 times within the last decade, Duma deputy Vladislav Ignatov stated at a briefing devoted to drug spreading. According to the data released by him, the highest parameters of drug addiction among teenagers were registered in the Ulyanovsk, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk region. The deputy stressed that the percentage of teenagers among the total number of drug addicts amount to 40 per cent, thus there are about 1 million young drug addicts in this country. If the current growth rates remain the same, there may be 2.5-3 million teenagers addicted to drugs in the near future, RBC reports. Ignatov stressed that all deputies spoke for toughening punishment for drug dealing. In his opinion, drug dealers should be sentenced to death.
