A number of prominent figures of the Russian culture have come out to support state symbolism bills presented by Russia’s president Vladimir Putin. “Russia’s President has proposed a way out of the current situation,” the open letter addressed to the State Duma deputies says. Gorki Film Studio Director Vladimir Grammatikov, Moscow Clownery Theatre’s Artistic Director Tereza Durova, actor Aleksandr Kalyagin, State Folk Dance Ensemble Director Igor Moiseyev, Gorki MKHAT’s Artistic Director Tatyana Doronina, Actor Gennadi Khazanov, Maly Theatre Director Yuri Solomin, Actor Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Actor Georgi Zhzhyonov, Film Director Marlen Khuysiyev, Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, Mosfilm Cinema Concern President Karen Shakhnazarov are among those who signed the letter.
