PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN MOLDOVA. VARIATIONS ON THE SAME THEME

The second act of the tragicomedy called “the election of the all-people’s president” is being played out today in the parliament of Moldova. The MPs are known to have nearly fought during the voting on Friday, nobody having won the needed number of votes as a result. Communist leader Vladimir Voronin scored 48, constitutional court chairman Pavel Barbalat, 37. In all, there are 101 voting deputies. One can only guess who will be the winner in the end.
