TUTANHAMON’S DNA UNDER STUDY

Japanese scientists are planning to study DNA of Tutanhamon’s mummy in order to clarify whether the famous pharaoh was son of Amenhotep III, Japanese newspaper Yomiuri reports. Tutanhamon’s sarcophagus is going to be opened for the fist time over the last three decades. Last time, it was opened by British scientists who X-rayed the mummy. A genetic analysis will be conducted by scientists from Japan’s leading universities which have already received permission from Egyptian authorities. Forensic techniques will be used in the study.
