There are 2 million drug addicts in Russia

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Drug Enforcement Council Vasiliy Bochkaryov reported on Wednesday that according to the Health Ministry report there are currently more than 2 million drug addicts in Russia. The highest level of drug abuse is reportedly in the regions where narcotics are cultivated or transited through, such as the Urals region, the Russian Far East, the Samara and the Ulyanovsk regions, "Ria-Novosti" reports. Imperfection of the current legislation aimed at the prevention of the illegal drug circulation is one of the main reasons for such situation.
