CHECHEN REBELS AGAIN ACTIVE

Rebels are again noted to be livening up in the Vedeno Region of Russia’s troublesome Chechen Republic. Migration of population, largely women and children to other regions of the republic is said to be taking place. Simultaneously, 2 – 3 men are arriving in the above region “to stay for the winter.” The new settlers’ concentration may be indicative of likely terrorist attacks in the region, Interfax reports. Besides, movement of a bandit group has been traces in the region by the military. According to the military, bandits try to get local people involved in terrorism, predominantly the young and teen-agers.
