"Kursk" Operation will Cost $5.8 Million

Operation An initial payment of $3.3 million was transferred to the Russian design bureau "Rubin" to retrieve bodies of the "Kursk" sub crew, Russian Finance Ministry Alexey Kudrin told journalists today, RIA "Novosti" news agency reported. Kudrin emphasized that the "Kursk" operation will cost $5.8 million, which are supposed to be transferred by the end of this year. According to Klebanov, the operation is scheduled for 18-19 October and will last about three weeks. The "Rubin" bureau had concluded a contract with a Norwegian firm to participate in the works together with other Russian firms. The Norwegian rescue ship "Regalia" will take part in the operation. Russia's top Navy commander, Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov will be in charge of the "Kursk" operation from Russian side.
