MOSCOW-DUSHANBE PASSENGER TRAINS CANCELLED

Yesterday, passenger rail communication between capital cities of Russia and Tadjikistan was stopped in both directions. The point is that Kazaskhstan, via which the route goes, refuses to pass trains through its territory due to Tadjikistan’s big indebtedness for railway transport. Common people have proved to be main victims. At present, air ticket fare for the Moscow-Dushanbe flight makes up $170 while minimal monthly salary in Tadjikistan is as little as $1, Radio Rossii reports.
