CRIMINALS HARASS EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN MORDOVIA

In Saransk, capital city of the Republic of Mordovia, almost all the educational institutions are hit by racket, says Oleg Korchiganov, spokesman of the Republic’s Internal Ministry. Earlier this year, 10 criminal groups specializing in extortion have been liquidated by the Ministry’s Division for Fighting Organized Crime. In schools, most victims are children who are physically weak or unprotected, or whose parents are rich. In colleges, criminals are hunting for stipends, our correspondent Igor Telin reports.
