PUTIN ASKS TO COUNT EXPENSES FOR MILITARY REFORM

Russia’s president Vladimir Putin has ordered to “count economic parameters” of the military reform within 1 – 1,5 months, said Security Council’s secretary Sergei Ivanov after a the council’s meeting devoted to military development in Russia. As Ivanov put it, the calculations should be made in such a way that the military budget be used with the “maximum efficiency, eliminating parallels in the activities of power institutions”. Ivanov stressed that there will be no cuts in financing the military component. Today, this expenditure makes up about 35% of the state budget and it, as Ivanov says, “remains in force”, news agency Novosti reports.
