Russian government to reform post service

Mikhail Kasyanov has congratulated women on the holiday of the 8th of March and wished them "good luck and big love".

Speaking about the reform of post service, he noted, that the Achilles heel of the Russian post is its slow speed. Moreover, the quality of post services leaves much to be desired. The Premier believes that one of the causes of such a situation is the absence of competition in this sector.

The Russian government approved the concept of the federal mail service restructuring, said Minister of Communications and Informatisation Leonid Reiman. He admitted that currently the work of mail left much to be desired.

Reiman also noted that "it is too early to consider privatisation of the mail service." The concept envisages that the mail service will remain a unitary state enterprise, the minister added.

Draft law on lotteries was also under discussion.
