Prime-Minister Kasyanov in Ulyanovsk: Russian aircraft building has the future

During his visit to the city of Ulyanovsk, chairman of the Russian government Mikhail Kasyanov carried out a sitting in Aviastar works. At the sitting, conception of Russian aircraft building’s development till the year 2010 was discussed. The aircraft building can hardly be helped out from crisis without the state’s participation. Kasyanov gave to understand that the Russian government would not remain aside. The Russian market needs 500 airliner a year. The base of leasing programme are IL-96 and TU-204 planes. The last ones are being produced by Ulyanovsk Aviastar works that has now not the best times. It is being forecasted, that by the year 2010, passengers’ flow on airline will increase two times. By this time, Aviastar must produce 15-19 planes a year. Kasyanov promised that the state would participate in the two leasing companies which will place their orders in Aviastar. Already in this year, 20 planes will be placed in the works, while this is a guarantee of its stable work during the nearest six years. According to the Prime-Minister, the task of the government is to assist in providing orders.
