Yekaterinburg to Bridge Russia and Holland

Creating in Yekaterinburg of a transport and logistics terminal, which is planned to become yet another link in the trans-European cargo route, was at the centre of the talks between Yuri Osintsev, Foreign Relations, Sverdlovsk Region, and representatives of Dutch companies, where the parties discussed construction and cargo processing alternatives. As the Sverdlovsk press service reported, the meeting was attended by Ian den Vildenberg, Oosterom & Zoom, Yakob Oosterling, Vplus, B.V., and Althur Skhoff, Tebodin.

According to Mr. Osintsev, the terminal will make the region one of the world-class leading transport centres, international cargo transit contributing to budget revenues, while modern processing techniques will lower transportation and storing costs. The project is supported by companies like the Uralmash machine-building plant which will take care of all the railways operations at the terminal, and the Rostek-Ural state company which promises to handle all customs issues.
