Japanese Centre In Nizhny Novgorod

A Japanese Centre was opened on Tuesday in Nizhny Novgorod (Volga region). The decision to establish it was taken by the government of Japan in the context of the programme for the technological assistance to Russia. The opening ceremony was attended from the Japanese side by Ambassador of Japan to Russia Minoru Tamba and the persons accompanying him, as well as a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese parliament, Muneo Suzuki . Present at the ceremony from the Russian side were representatives of the political and financial quarters, including plenipotentiary representative of the President in the Volga federal district Sergei Kiriyenko and governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gennady Khodyrev. An urgent request to organise a Japanese Centre in Nizhny Novgorod was expressed by Sergei Kiriyenko during his visit to Japan in May last year. Taking into consideration this request, during the meeting at the highest level, the then Prime Minister, Yoshiro Mori, promised Vladimir Putin to establish such a centre. The Japanese Centre in Nizhny Novgorod has become the seventh in Russia. The Japanese Centres in Russia, with the aim of forming the personnel for a market economy, organise all kinds of courses for young entrepreneurs training them in business administration, the work with the personnel, foreign trade activity, marketing and in other spheres of business.
