Russian Government To Consider Reforming Vneshekonombank

As expected plans to reform the Vneshekonombank will be considered at a government meeting on the 1st of November, Aleksei Kudrin, the vice-premier and finance minister of the Russian Federation, informed journalists on Monday. According to him, it is planned that the present Vneshekonombank's commercial banking structure will be separated creating a new commercial bank. The remaining part is to be retained by Vneshekonombank together with its name. As Kudrin explained, it is connected to the many international commitments maintained by the USSR Vneshekonombank, and therefore it's renaming is not possible due to numerous formalities. Vneshekonombank will take on the function of government agent for state debt, added the vice-premier.
