Problem Of Providing Electricity To Chechnya Might Be Considered Settled

According to the report of the RIA Novosti correspondent, Chairman of the board of the "UES Russia" Russian Joint-stock company Anatoly Chubais informed journalists that the matter of supplying electricity to Chechnya might be considered settled. According to him, the major part of electric power installations in Chechnya was restored and if their capacity 2-3 years ago was 70-80 megawatts, then presently it equalled 150-160 megawatts. Chubais indicated that power engineering specialists were prepared to continue working to restore power plants in Chechnya. The Chairman of the board of the "UES Russia" Russian joint-stock company took part in the All-Russian meeting of power engineering workers which took place in Makhachkala (the capital of Dagestan, a North Caucasian republic neighbouring Chechnya).
