Belarus President Confirms Decision To Privatize Major Enterprises

President Aleksander Lukashenko of Belarus has confirmed his decision to let the republic's major enterprises be privatised. We are going to sell shares of our enterprises, the president said Friday as meeting with the Belarussian business community. The president was hopeful Belarussian businessmen's share in those enterprises will be essential. It is time, said Aleksander Lukashenko, to give an impetus to the development of big business in Belarus.
