Gazprom Chief Positive About Turkey's Ability To Pay

Aleksei Miller, chief of Gazprom, Russia's natural gas monopoly, is positive about creditworthiness of Turkey to which Russia is to start supplying natural gas under the Blue Stream project. The pace of Turkey's economic development has somewhat slowed down of late, Miller admitted at a news conference in Krasnodar. However Turkey is still a responsible and promising partner. The indices experts forecast when working out the Blue Stream project are absolutely realistic, said the Gazprom chief. By 2008, Russia will be supplying Turkey with 16 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
