Suspicious white powder in mail: now in Moscow

Sanitary and epidemic hysteria is growing. Yesterday. workers of a firm situated in the building of Russian Furniture Design Institute gave over to the Moscow police a package with suspicious white powder that had come to the office by mail. On the package, an unknown “terrorist” wrote (in pure Russian) “a present for the victims of letters." The police gave over the suspicious package Sanitary and Epidemic Inspectors. For half a day, the laboratory investigated the package’s contents, and finally came to the following conclusion: the package is not dangerous. Fortunately, there were not an evacuation of the building and any isolation of the businessmen. Therefore, the workers of the firm were relieved of a very unpleasant procedure of disinfection (like in Australia: there, an office worker who received a letter of that kind had to stand dressed and with private things, under the strong shower of water and chlorine). Moscow policemen regard the event as a hooliganism. No charges have been filed.
