Russia To Supply 80 T-90 Tanks To India By The End Of 2001

Russia is going to deliver 80 T-90 tanks to India by the end of this year, India's Defence Minister George Fernandes said at a press conference Tuesday. He noted that an agreement to the effect had been achieved during the three rounds of his talks with Russia's Deputy Prime Minister currently staying in Delhi. Under the previous agreement, Russia is to supply 40 tanks to India by the end of the year. In addition, the minister added the sides had also agreed to jointly develop and manufacture a military and transport aircraft.
