Australia: Suspicious letters discovered

Australian Police was busy today attending to numerous cases of suspicious mail believed to contain the anthrax virus. Parcels delivered to government offices and private corporations caused a widespread disruption in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Townsville. The US Consulate in Melbourne was evacuated when an employee discovered a letter containing an unknown chemical residue. A similar letter was delivered to the office of the prime minister of Queensland in Brisbane. The scare follows earlier incidents, which caused the evacuation of the Airport and the American Express Tower in Sydney.
