Russian Cosmonauts Vladimir Dezhurov And Mikhail Tyurin Commence Space Walk

Russian cosmonauts Vladimir Dezhurov and Mikhail Tyurin, members of Expedition Two to the International Space Station (ISS,) commenced a spacewalk at 1:16 p.m. Moscow time. Their mission in space is to prepare the Pirs docking unit to receive space ships, as well as to conduct scientific research on the ISS surface. The Russian Mission Control reported that the cosmonauts would spend 5.5 hours in the open space.
