A Package Of Seven Inter-governmental Agreements Signed As A Result Of Negotiations Between Prime-ministers Of Czechia And Russia

A set of inter-governmental agreements consisting of seven documents was signed as a result of negotiations which took place in Prague on Tuesday between Russian prime-minister Mikhail Kasyanov and Czech prime-minister Milos Zeman. In particular, the parties signed Addendum # 2 to the Agreement between Russia and Czechia on settlement of indebtedness of the former USSR and Russia dated 17 April 1994. In addition to that the parties signed an agreement between the governments of both countries on prevention of dangerous military activity, and an agreement on military and technical cooperation. They put their signatures under the agreement on cooperation in the area of education and science for the period from 2001 till 2004. Also the agreement was signed on cooperation of Ingosstrakh, Avtobank with Czech Export Bank. On top of that the agreement was signed between Russian Vneshtorgbank and Czech and Slovak trade bank on cooperation in the area of pre-export financing of deliveries of Czech products and services to Russia. Also the agreement was signed on cooperation of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs with the Czech Union of Industrialists and Transport. Mikhail Kasyanov stressed that various agreements which had been signed were of unconditional importance for development of bilateral relations. In particular, the agreement in the area of education and science will help to intensify exchange of students and teachers. In addition to that the parties will continue preparation of the agreement on mutual acceptance of diplomas of the two countries. The cooperation agreement between Russian Vneshtorgbank and the Czech and Slovak trade bank will allow, according to Anatoly Chernyshov, deputy President and Chairman of the Board of Vneshtorgbank to facilitate growth of mutual trade of both countries. Contracts from 1 to 5 years of validity are covered by this agreement. The aggregate credit line amounts to USD 20 million. While summing up the results of the negotiations the Russian prime-minister concluded that "the comprehensive approach, multifaceted statements create solid foundation for manufacturers of both countries to achieve more urgent interaction".
