Fires Spread Over About 53,000 Hectares Of Taiga In Khabarovsk Territory (far East)

As many as 38 hotbeds of forest fires with a total area of 52,999 hectares of forest have been registered in the Khabarovsk Territory (the Russian Far East). Over the past 24 hours eight hotbeds of fire in the Amur taiga were localised and eight were stamped. On Thursday detachments of the Emergency Situations Ministry, the forest guard and military - all in all, more than 500 people, as well as 67 units of machines and equipment, and 12 aircraft and helicopters -- are taking part in extinguishing the fires.
